Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation. My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.” –Psalms 35:9 & 10, NIV 2010
So let’s talk about emotions. The part of our body which covers our essence –our thoughts, desires, dreams, and feelings and emotion- is called “soul.” The soul is embedded between the flesh and the spirit. We can’t see it, of course, but we know it’s there! Our true intentions lay hidden in the soul, in our hearts, waiting to be manifested on something: anything, really.
Emotions are so tricky, that we really need the help of God to determine what’s true and what’s not. They can confuse us and drive us away from the perfect will of God; Satan (!Señor reprenda!) can use them for other purposes. Our weaknesses are made known through our emotions (or lack of manifestation of emotions), and emotions can show lack of discipline and will of character.
Even though emotions are tough to deal with them…Oh, what am I talking about here!?!? I’m not even making sense!
If you’re an emotional person, give glory to God for that. At least whatever message you want to pull through is pulling through. Emotions aren’t good, nor bad; think of it as “neutral”, like cream for wallpaper and yellow for babies. However, like anything else, don’t let it run your life! We’re asked to asked to ask wisdom from God in order to do anything great in this life.
Ice kings and queens: please, warm up a little bit. God gave you feelings, and you only get one life. Emotions were given by God to actually have a life-so let’s honor Him by using more. Be more affectionate, or at least try to. But for all, ask wisdom.
Normal people: what have I got to say? Although, there is something I totally disagree…
