I will certainly go with you, but you should know from the beginning that this battle will not lead to your personal glory. The Eternal has decreed that the mighty Sisera will be defeated by a woman. -Judges 4:8, VOICE
(We interrupt this blog series for a special breaking news!!!)
The country needed a leader. The world they knew needed a leader. Someone who could stand up against their abusers and give them what they deserve. And a women couldn't do that. No, sir. The annals of the tribes was not their place for them. Their faculties are straight: mothers, cooks, wives and nothing more. Yes, that's their God-given place, and they should stay there.
Barak wanted a lucky charm, something so magically delicious. In his eyes, Deborah was an attractive woman; maybe showing some vulnerability was his own version of a pre-date pretext. Or maybe he was scared –genuinenly scared.
“I will go”, she relpied, albeit with a twist. “But the honor of Sisera's death will be given by... a woman.” Her lips resonated with subtle prophesy and sensuality...a woman....so much that Barak could hear it.
This is the woman I was raised with. This is the woman I want to seek with all of my heart.
¡Feliz Día de las Madres!
