“Here comes that dreamer!” they said to each other. -Genesis 37:19, NIV
Jacob loved Rebekkah and her miracle so much, he transferred all his love to Joseph. His love was so astounding, unique and in-your-face, that made every brother jealous. It wasn't only the Technicolor dreamcoat. It even had nothing to do with doubling the amount of meats and cheeses Joseph partook in last year's dinner. Not even the deserts and his smile of glistening happiness that barged into the secret darkness of his brother's brains.
They all knew he would rule them soon.
Not even a slap in the wrist and a hard-wringing sermon from Jacob could shake Joseph's faith. He looked like an adult and behaved like and adult; but in all truth, he was a teenager at heart —young, confused, and looking for a place in this world. He knew it was made for something greater, something far beyond what he could see in a bunch of piled-up desert dunes and dusty camels.
But what was the price he had to pay in order to live in greatness?
