But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. –Daniel 1:9, NIV
What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them. –Matthew 15:12, NIV
However, what happens when we forget to feed the wolves? What if our busy schedules constantly interrupt our God-given duty to give Balto his corresponding diet? And what if we think about neglecting to give wolves their food? This is animal abuse, and it can’t be tolerated in any form. And yet, when it seems to pick between one or the other, it is a tempting offer we can’t refuse.
The intent of our hearts is perhaps more deceiving than our actions. At least actions are done and done, and when the dust finally settles, we already know that it happened and there is no turning back. At least the food we eat has a final step into the latrine. But inside? No-ho-ho, that brain and heart and evil simmers with a pinch of spice of Satan. If it were easy to understand –or to figure out- our true intentions, then we wouldn’t be in so much trouble!
We like to feed on hate, on horror, on dishonor and bad music. We like to thrust our mouths into horrible pastimes that spoil our hapless nutrition, and ruin our appetites for the Godly! Our minds dagger with disdain and pain-and when we feed off that, Satan bleeds our bloodline dry.
We’ve got to stop eating this trash that has already taken its toil. We have the power to nip this in the bud, and stop it before it’s too late! Who told you that we can’t change our fodder?
Why don’t we let the good wolf win?
