The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. -1 Thessalonians 5:24, NIV 2010
God works that way with us. Out of everything in creation, God valued man the most. When He created Adam, He entrusted him to take care of everything in Eden. Unfortunately, man didn’t budge to His love. Even so, God clothed them, and asked them to leave, guarding the fruit of the tree of life with angels of fire. How said was it, for God to lose a friend!
And you say then, that God doesn't need a friend. You’re right, actually: He is way too holy, way too powerful to be putting up with us headaches.
Because of Abraham, He didn’t let Lot be killed with Sodom and Gomorrah. “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it”, He said.
Because of Moses, God fulfilled a promise he told to the people: The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation (Numbers 14:18), and didn’t kill off His people Israel.
Because of His love for David, and His promise to bring a Savior from His seed, He didn’t destroy Judah as He should’ve done.
Because of Jesus, His own son, pleading for us in the cross, bearing the weight of the sin we should’ve bore ourselves, we are here, alive and kicking.
Because He loves YOU, YOU are standing here right now, reading this post. I’m not talking about any other post; I’m talking about this one. (How’s that for breaking the fourth wall, if it ever existed?)
Can I prove to you numerous times more how Love is faithful?
But can YOU be faithful to Him?
