This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. -Colossians 1:26, MSG
The point is, we can do so little. We only shoot so far. We can only fight so hard, and we must accept that for it’s our humanity. Or not. I don’t know how people roll these days.
Still, we’re intrigued by the unknown. I bet if we knew everything that happened in this world, we’d be so disappointed that our human existence would completely disappear. If everything is thrown out in the open, there wouldn’t be things we call “secrets”. Knowledge is important (and wisdom is even better), but not knowing… is important, too. The fact that we don’t have to know it all is, in a sense, a relief. Then, we be realistic, we’d have no reason to feel the weight of the world.
That’s an awesome thought to have with us.
Maybe that’s the reason why we’re so vicariously attached to the strange, paranormal and supernatural, or mystery novels and film noire. Something’s always beating within us…something that craves for that unreachable part in us. Like a dream, everyone knows it’s there. No one understands why or how it happens, but it’s there. It’s a need that needs to be fulfilled, like a black hole that traps everything in its path.
It’s overwhelming. He’s overwhelming. And I like that.
