And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it; for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. –Jeremiah 29:7, KJ21
Those who talk and preach and boast about peace will never show it.
The mighty armies of the world will try to fight for peace (what a contradiction!), but will never solve it by treaties and political compacts.
In this world, peace is nowhere to be found. Not even within ourselves.
At this very moment, people are opening their crusty eyes wide, looking at the gray walls surrounding their rooms, thinking and praying that a freak snowstorm would befall the tri-state area and destroy the workplace. People are recovering from a weekend feast of weekend thanksgiving, only to return to reality with long faces and expressionless wrinkles. The joy they felt just a weekend ago seems to have been drained from their bodies.
And don’t get me started with the young’uns! Those are the ones that truly feel the pain of everyday. Even if it doesn’t look to be that way, they understand such dark and grim concepts fairly well-even better- than their own parents. Kids know about death. Kids know about sex. Kids know about unfairness and jealousy. Kids know how to suffer, for they live that everyday.
It’s as if the world lived in a contradiction. As of this writing, probably everything we hold and consider sacred has already been violated by a pair of diabolical grubby mitts…and some even have the power to suck the blood out of our cheeks! Home, school, police station, park, church… Yeah, pretty much everything we know and love.
There are so much talks about privacy, yet we don’t think about it when we aimlessly post stuff on Facebook. (Ooh, burn!)
Everybody now as a lot to say, and little to mean.
And our first goal is to become rather popular, or rather famous by the stupidest of means, and even that reeks of failure in its first execution.
See? Peace, even within ourselves, is nowhere to be found.
But I know of Someone who can deal with that!
