As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word. –1 Kings 17:1, NIV
Come on, rain down a bit! We’re tropical people, and rain comes with a package! If You can’t make it rain…it scares me. It scares me a lot.
You know that without rain, nothing can thrive! Lakes will dry up, plants will wilt, animals will die, and if rain at a latter time comes…Well, it’ll just be a disaster! Come on, God! Please! Send some rain!
I need rain! WE need rain! Please open up and send some rain! Please bless us some more! I don’t mind waiting, but we need some rain!
But without the rain, You’ll send us to the river.
You’ll send the ravens to give us food.
You’ll give a small boy another chance to live.
You’ll let us defeat the idols at Mt. Carmel.
Without rain, You’ll let us see Your provision in another way.
But with rain, You’ll never let us forget how great You are.
